Job Summary:
Responsible for assuring continuous supply and timely procurement of assigned items within the quality and quantity parameters established by the Company.
Essential Functions:
1.Global strategic sourcing of food ingredients and contract manufacturing
2.Identify, facilitate approval (if viable) and integrate alternative products, suppliers and/or supply solutions to leverage lower TCO, lead-times, on-time deliveries, higher quality and stable supply options to Wixon.
3.Supplier management to assure consistent compliance with quality standards and specifications, shipping stipulations and on-time and complete deliveries.
4.Develop and maintain ingredient supply strategies to compliment production and sales requirements.
5.Actively seek ways to reduce lead-times; Wixon-owned inventory should be the last option considered.
6.Optimize inventory; minimize conditions leading to stagnant/obsolete and expired shelf life inventories.
7.Proactive collaborative relationship with all stakeholders to deliver services, information and products to meet agreed-upon deadlines
8.Strategies to reduce financial, supply and quality risks
9.Establish mutually agreed upon expectations with all suppliers to achieve purchasing objectives.
10.Actively solicit multiple innovation and cost reduction ideas from each supplier on an annual basis
11.Optimize leverage through supplier consolidation and reallocation as required
12.Proactive and to-the-point written and oral communication across the enterprise to keep all stakeholders informed of supply, cost and market-related risks.
13.Key cost drivers; reduce price volatility risk through indexing; employ external cost verification for cost increases/decreases
14.Demonstrate a sense of urgency to insure raw materials are available when required for production
15.Ability to prioritize in a multitasking environment
16.Develop long term strategic plans for key ingredients
17.Maintain supplier scorecards for preferred vendors or as required by department and company policy
18.Travel as required to optimize supplier relationships and performance.
19.Show excellence in strategic and tactical supplier negotiations
20.Create and perform favorable to annual cost budgets for your assigned categories.
21.Maintain on-going knowledge of markets that impact assigned categories; communicate current market dynamics, comparison to prior markets, forecast future market movements and their potential impact to Wixon
22.Advise ways to capitalize on market changes and movements that could give Wixon competitive advantages.
23.Responsible to deliver individual strategic and tactical goals and objectives.
24.Maintain ethical business practices and communication consistent with Wixon policies.
Additional Responsibilities:
Acts as back up for Purchasing Manager- Ingredients, Senior Buyer - Ingredients, Buyer-Packaging, and Purchasing Ad/Min when absent.
Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of two years experience required, or equivalent work experience. Strong computer skills. Strong oral, written communication and interpersonal skills needed for dealing effectively with outside vendors.
Quality:
Must possess, demonstrate and follow all instructions, procedures and guidelines set forth in all applicable Wixon/ISO/department policies to assure continued quality product is produced.

Working Conditions:
Normal front office environment with an occasional exposure to hazards of an industrial environment such as noise, dust, hazardous materials, machinery and lift equipment.
