Refunds

·  Where a participant does not attend an event, for which they have paid and confirmed a booking, they will always be liable to pay the cost for that event. Exceptions may be allowed at the Committee’s discretion but it should be borne in mind that the club events are priced based on full occupancy and the club cannot afford to underwrite the cost of cancellations.

·  Members are encouraged to take out travel insurance to cover cost of event cancellation.

General

·  The Committee will appoint a representative (normally the skipper) to be responsible for each event. This person will ensure that all monies have been collected, provide information regarding boat allocation, oilskin hire, crew allocation, marina directions, provisioning etc.

·  The named skipper of a boat is in absolute command of that boat.

·  The itinerary will be decided by the skipper of each vessel at the time and will be guided by prevailing weather conditions.

·  Whether in a Marina, moored on a buoy, at anchor, or ashore during an event all participants must abide by the local rules and customs with strict regard to noise, litter, and speed limits. Any infringement or any situation that brings the good name of the club into disrepute will be reported to the Committee who will decide what action to take.

·  Lifejackets/Buoyancy Aids will always be worn in dinghies.

·  All participants will wear harnesses when instructed by their skipper. Whilst underway harnesses will always be worn when on deck at night, or when the vessel is reefed.
