Sunday, October 23 at 7 p.m. on CHANNEL 2, WSB-TV

ATLANTA – October 19, 2011 – Channel 2, in partnership with Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum, has for over a decade, given Atlanta rare access to some of the most important discoveries of our time. We’ve taken viewers behind the scenes of some of history’s great mysteries.

Now, Channel 2’s Jovita Moore and Justin Farmer will explore “Life and Death in the Pyramid Age…The Emory Old Kingdom Mummy,” a rare exhibit, nearly 100 years in the making. With dozens of ancient artifacts and a famous statue of Egyptian King Pepi on display, the central attraction of this exciting exhibit is a rare piece of history that dates back 4,000 years. It is an Egyptian mummy, confirmed to be from the old kingdom time period in Egyptian history.

Channel 2 reveals the story behind the mummy’s journey to Georgia and the Emory Professor who brought him from Egypt in 1920. Viewers will get an up close look at the delicate process used to restore the 4,000 year old mummy and see what doctors discovered when they studied him using modern day CT scans.
