Allowing this application will make it difficult to resist others. If all the others did the same then the PROW would become a narrow and oppressive route to use. There is a safety and amenity issue here which needs to be carefully considered.

4a. Street Naming and Numbering

  • Request for Road Name-Development at Frankton, Bridgetown, Stratford-upon-Avon

On 21 December, 2017 STC received an email from SDC on behalf of Damson Home regarding the naming of adevelopment at Frankton, Bridgetown. The email is outlined below.

As you will see from the attachments(Appendices ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ & ‘D’) it is recommended that 1 new street name is required as highlighted on the attached plan. Can you please consider the names you would like to be allocated to this development as soon as possible as the developer is unable to arrange for services to be connected to properties until such time as postcodes are decided. Can you please advise your timescales in dealing with this matter.

Under Section 17 of the Public Health Act the developer has put forward the name “Frankton Court”.

If this name is not adopted by the Town Council valid reasons must be given in your response as these may form part of a report to the Portfolio Holder should a dispute arise.

I would appreciate an insight into the name you decide so that I may adequately inform the developer and check it meets our street naming and numbering policy.

Once the names have been agreed I will request the developerto submit them formally under Section 17 of the Public Health Act 1925. Consultation with then follow with the Ward Member and Head of Technical Services for their comments. If all is approved, postcodes can be obtained from the Royal Mail and the process concluded.
