Acts 1:1-26

  1. Post Resurrection Ministry and Ascension: 1:3-11
  1. Forty Days of Purpose: 1:3
  1. Wait for the Spirit: 1:4-5
  2. The Spirit was ______: John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26.
  3. He would not be sent until Christ was ______: John 7:37-39; 16:7.
  4. Baptized with the Spirit?
  5. This is when the Holy Spirit began to indwell believers (Jn.14:17).

  • The return of Christ is inevitable, but until He comes we’ve got work to do.
  • If Christ is central, then unity among believers of diverse backgrounds is very possible.
  • In choosing a replacement for Judas, the disciples employed Biblical principles and cast themselves upon the Lord to direct their steps.
  • The first chapter of Acts closes with a drum roll. The disciples had been given final instructions, they were anxiously anticipating the coming of the Spirit, and found a replacement for Judas.
