Letter of Invitation: APRA Calabar 2016

We bring you warm greetings from the Executive Committee of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), the umbrella body for the public relations and communication practice in Africa.

APRA is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established to foster unity via interaction and exchange of ideas among public relations practitioners in Africa as a whole and through communication, promote social, political and economic integration on the continent.

For a long time, Africa has been tagged the“Dark continent and usually presented as the home of famine, hunger, conflict, poverty and corruption. Although constituent states have developed diverse means of speaking for themselves, Africa as a continent is yet to find its voice.

As APRA sets to stage its 28th annual flagship conference that brings together over 500 practitioners in public relations, media, brand management, advertising, government and other marketing communications professionals from across the African Continent & beyond, we write to invite you and other discerning PR/Communication practitioners in your organisation to attend APRA Calabar 2016.

Themed ‘Leapfrogging Africa: The Role of Communication’, the Conference is endorsed by the African Union Commission (AUC) and is designed to discuss poignant issues germane to the development of Africa.

The Conference will be declared open by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari while Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former President of Nigeria has accepted to Chair the opening ceremony.
