A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.
WHEREAS, Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss was born on May 6, 1914, a native of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on January 23, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss was the loving daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Warren Michler, and she also was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Westwood and Kathryn Gregory; she was the devoted wife of George A. Rassenfoss; she was the loving mother of four surviving daughters, Betty Pat Koenig of Erlanger, Judy Anne Rassenfoss Bishop of Bourbon County, Bridget Wolff of Boone County, and Marphy Covington of Paris, and five sons, John Rassenfoss of Florence, and George M. Rassenfoss, Mike Rassenfoss, Timothy Rassenfoss, and Dennis E. Rassenfoss, all of Bourbon County; and she was the proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren, and the proud great-grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss graduated from Henry Clay High School and attended the University of Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss was an active and involved citizen, and an esteemed member of the Bourbon County community, where she was a devout member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation; she was a former member of Homemakers Club, a former chairman of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary, and she was the first president of the Northern Kentucky Chapter of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss, and extends to her family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Martha Jaynes Rassenfoss.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. George A. Rassenfoss Jr., 1138 Hume Bedford Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
