Blood Donor Awards for 50 donations

A huge congratulations to Sean Creamer, Castleroggy, John Toolan, Stradermot and Alan Banks, Willowfield Road who all received their Gold Drop award from the Irish Blood Tranfusion Service for 50 donations recently. This is a fantastic achievement. The service depends on donors to maintain an adequate and safe blood supply to save and improve lives. Each day, hospitals depend on blood donations - it may be for a routine surgical procedure or indeed major surgery or for a patient undergoing cancer treatment. Can you become a donor? Please think about it. Because of its short shelf life, blood stocks have to be replenished every 35 days.

Advent

God our Father, you loved us so much that you sent your only son into the world to be our savior and friend. Bless us as we wait for the coming of your Son. Open our hearts so that we may recognise him when he comes and make him welcome- whatever form he might take. Bless this wreath which represents our waiting, our hope, our recognition and welcome of God’s presence in our world. We make this prayer through your Son Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen
