Early Years Foundation Stage Profile Moderators required

For the attention of head teachers and teachers working within the Early Years Foundation Stage

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Early Years Foundation Stage teachers to join our Wakefield EYFS Profile moderator team for the academic year 2016-2017.

Moderators will be expected to:

  • Lead professional dialogue with practitioners during the moderation visit
  • Facilitate professional dialogue at local authority moderation meetings
  • Establish and validate the accuracy of practitioner judgements in line with national exemplification materials
  • Provide effective verbal and written feedback to practitioners and senior leaders

Applicants must have:

  • Qualified teacher status
  • A thorough knowledge of EYFS principles and pedagogy
  • An in depth knowledge of EYFS assessment and a thorough understanding of the EYFS profile moderation process
  • Experience of working within Early Years
  • Excellent communication skills

It would also be beneficial for applicants to have experience of:

  • Assessing children who have English as an additional language
  • Assessing children with additional needs
  • Leadership and/or experience of working in a support capacity with practitioners from other settings
  • Managing the implementation of EYFS Profile moderation in school

This role will involve up to 10 days release from school to undertake training, school visits, attendance at LA moderation meetings and administrative work. Cover will be paid directly to school. The role must be undertaken with full agreement and authorisation from the head teacher.
