CHINA INTERNATIONAL PARACHUTING OPEN

1.  INTRODUCTION:

The 17th Asiania Parachuting Championships consists of the following:

·  17th Asiania Parachuting Championships

·  China International Parachuting Open 2015

The event is governed under the Asiania Parachuting Federation (FAI Sporting Code General Section and Sporting Code Section 5 and Competition Rules will be applied).

2.  AIMS OF THE 17TH ASIANIA PARACHUTING CHAMPIONSHIPS & China International Parachuting Open:

·  To determine the Asiania parachuting champions (including Juniors).

·  To create new Asiania parachuting records (including Juniors).

·  To promote the development of parachuting in Asiania areas.

·  To exchange experience and strengthen friendly relations between the sport parachutists of all Asiania members.

·  To allow participants to share and exchange experience, knowledge and information.

3.  ORGANIZERS:

The Competition is organized by ASFC (Aero Sports Federation of China) and the local government of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Pro. and under the control of Asiania Parachuting Federation.

5.  PERIOD OF EVENT:

3rd – 12th September 2015

6.  LOCATION:

Taiyuan City, capital city of Shanxi Province is 500 kms southwest of Beijing,

The altitude of the DZ is approximately 800 meters above sea level.

Coordinate of competition site :112°25’21.8” E, 37°30’26.9” N

7.  FLIGHT & TRAIN INFORMATION:

Taiyuan International airport is the only civil airport in the city.

There are flights to Taiyuan International airport from some Asia countries’ airport. (To be published in next Bulletin)

China domestic Flights schedule for the large cities will be published in next Bulletin for your reference.

Please check the flight schedule with your air ticketing agent for specific flight information.

High speed trains from Beijing are like buses. It takes 3 hours from Beijing City to Taiyuan City

If teams would like to take train to Taiyuan City after entering China, please go to the high speed train station and find the scheduled train to Taiyuan City (schedules in next Bulletin).

9.  DAILY SCHEDULE:

September 3 (Friday): Arrival of Teams, Orientation Jumps,

Technical Conference Judges

September 4 (Saturday): Arrival of Teams, Orientation jumps,

Technical Conference Judges, Opening Ceremony,

Technical Briefing and Draw

September 5 -10 (Sunday to Thursday): Competition all day

September 11 (Friday): Morning: Competition if required

Afternoon: Awards and Closing Ceremony

Evening: Farewell Banquet

September 12 (Saturday): Departure of the teams

10. JUDGING:

a)  Judge Conference: 3 and 4 September 2015:

Commencing at 9 a.m. on the 3 September and continue through 4 September.

All judges are expected to attend if they wish to be considered for the Official panels.

b)  Judging Equipment:

Style and Accuracy: Weckbecker AMD system and Ground to Air Video

CF and FS: “In Time” system (To be confirmed)

c)  Videographers: IMPORTANT

FS and CF Videographer - Teams will be required to provide or organize to have their own video camera person. If there are problems with this please advise Organizer as soon as possible.

All video equipment must deliver a High Definition 1080 type digital signal with a minimum

frame rate of 25 frames per second, through a memory card (minimum class 10).

The videographer is responsible for ensuring the compatibility of the freefall video

equipment with the scoring system.

d)  FAI Judge Training Courses: Style, Accuracy, FS, CF – Separate Bulletin with all details and fees to be sent regarding the FAI Judge Training Courses planned for 26th August to 4th September. Further practical judging experience under supervision will be provided during the championships.

11. AIRCRAFT: Exit speed for all aircraft will be 80 knots, + - 5 knots

PC-6 (Pilatus Porter), 10 slots, right or left door, with handle for FS

Y-12 (Chinese Twin Otter), 15 slots, left door, with handle for FS

*Cessna 208 (Caravan), reserve. 15 Slots, left door, with handle for FS

12. WEATHER CONDITIONS:

--Average temperature in September is 18 degrees Celsius

--Average Wind Speed is 2 to 4 meters per second, northwest

13. ENTRY FEE

A)  $ 600 USD per competitor per category;

$ 600 USD per person for officials and accompanying personnel;

An extra fee of $ 50 USD will be added per competitor competing in more than one category

Categories are:

1) Freefall Style and Accuracy

2) 4-Way Formation Skydiving Open

3) 4-Way Canopy Formation Rotations

4) 2-Way Canopy Formation Sequential

B)  Entry Fee will cover:

1. Hotel: From September 3rd (night) to September 12th (night);

2. Meals: From dinner of September 3rd to breakfast of September 12th;

3. Transportation: From Taiyuan airport, train stations to hotel and return after the event;

4. Transportation: From hotel to DZ and back during the contest days;

5. Competition jumps including one Orientation Jump;

6. Welcome and farewell banquets;

7. Souvenirs

Note: Entry Fee can be paid at registration without any late charge fee (requires prior arrangement with organisers).

NOTE: Only US Dollars can be accepted when bank transfer.

Entry fee can also be paid during registration and no late fee will be charged. (requires prior arrangement with organisers).

14. ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE:

17th Asiania Parachuting Championships is open to Countries/Regions that are current financial members of the Asiania Parachute Federation and FAI.

China International Parachuting Open 2015: is open to Asiania and non Asiania member countries and must be a current member of the FAI.

17. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

The height of opening the parachute must be at least 700 meters AGL;

Jumpers must wear helmet during the jumping;

Ram Air main and Ram Air reserve;

Altimeter alarm is mandatory for FS and CF,AAD is recommended for all events.

18. INSURANCE:

Every jumper must have the life insurance of the year;

The third party insurance will be organized by the event organizer;

Please contact the organizer if the participant does not have life insurance.

If any team will require a VISA to come to China, please send the Entry Form and each participant’s passport information WITH COPY OF PASSPORT PAGE (page with photo) to the Organizer AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE BEFORE 1st AUGUST 2015

(Judge training course will need to allow at least 1 month before course commences)

We will then send the Visa Application Invitation Letter to you as required.

Please Note: Passport Expiry date must be valid for at least 6 months from the time

you enter China !!

20. NATIONAL/REGIONAL FLAG AND ANTHEM:

Each participating team is kindly asked to bring 2 national/regional flags and CD/USB flash disc of their Anthem.

21. AWARDS:

TROPHIES AND MEDALS will be awarded separately for the:

·  CHINA International Parachuting Open 2015
