Chairpersons report
Discussion: Jackie thanked the committee and captains for all their support over the season. She has taken the decision to stand down as Chairperson. It has been a good year for young and old players with some exciting play from the youngsters. Few games have had to be cancelled this season. Captains have struggled for some games to get players, so well done captains as it keeps the money rolling in. The five game format introduced this season seemed to get mastered quite quickly. Captains had teams on court on time ready for their game. Big thanks to Pam for organizing yearly fixtures. Thanks go to captains for organizing nights, its 70 women over a 3 hour stint so well done! Umpires well done! Especially girls who have run the line. We need now to increase qualified umpires this is a good way of understanding the rules which will help in your play! Umpiring can be a fruitless task and unsporting behavior and descent is not acceptable. Every players needs to adhere to the code of conduct. It is the responsibility of captains to ensure this happens. Finances have increased due to 5 games a night. Big thanks to Tracey and Jane for helping with the banking of monies.

Treasures report
Discussion: Balance sheet was handed round. Due to 5 games a night it has generated monies giving £72.00 each Tuesday. Balance of account stands at £5803.00. It was suggested we spend some of the money on bibs, balls, first aid kit, score cards, whistles etc. Equipment to be decided by the committee. Again it was proposed we can help promote young girls in netball. Thanks from Gail to Jane and Tracey for all their help through a difficult year.
Conclusions: A very good year financially
Action items: Person responsible: Deadline:
Entries and matches
Discussion: Entry forms were completed on the evening. An entry from all existing teams in the league apart from Stars, Goodies, Uni A and Uni B (who did confirm this last season two teams would be entering next season) with a new entry the Chinley Allsorts. The same format of 5 games an evening to remain. Organizers of the evening need to be at the centre by 7.05 with teams ready with bibs on by 7.10. It was raised at half time teams could have 1-2 minutes to give players a breather and chance to re organize their team. Unfortunately to give the extra minutes at half time it would mean either shortening the games or going back to the original format of 4 games an evening which gives teams fewer games.

Conclusions: Straight turn around at half time.
Action items: Stars and Goodies to return completed entry form by 8/7/08 if wanting to enter league
Person responsible: Deadline:
Promotion
Discussion: Needs further discussions. Until all entries have been received division format cannot be decided. A division winners Glossop runners up Ladybugs, B division winners Buxton A runners up Taxal, C division runners up Tarmac runners up Little uns.

Discussion: Tracey informed everyone of the new junior club which is in the process of being set up. The aim is to promote netball in the High Peak area to children in yrs 7, 8, 9 and 10. A taster day is being held on Sunday 13th July at Chapel Leisure Centre a cost of £3 per child. Anyone wishing to give up their spare time to come along to give a helping hand on the taster day will be welcome! The committee will be prepared to help fund the set up of the new club once a firm proposal is put on the table! The new club will require netball bibs, balls, first aid kit. The cost of a venue for training and games, travel costs incurred and I’m sure there will be many more hidden costs.
BDNL Website
Discussion: Jenny Turner has built a website for the netball league. The email address is www.highpeaknetball.co.uk . This will be updated weekly with scores, player of the match, league tables etc. Please pass details onto team members. This is great for the league and will prove to be a great asset. It was agreed £20.00 once a year to host the website will be paid for from the league. Well done Jenny!
