Marketing and Communications Project Manager
Job Description
This September, Cardiff will celebrate the centenary of one of its most well-known sons, Roald Dahl, with an extraordinary weekend-long event, showcasing both Roald Dahl’s distinctive voice and the jewels of the city’s buildings, parks and its people.
Eye-popping visual spectacles will turn heads and madcap events will defy the laws of physics in some of the city’s most iconic locations, including Cardiff Castle and the National Museum. A cast of thousands, from parkour artists to farmers, from pigeon fanciers to puppeteers, will give heart-stopping performances both intimate and epic in Victorian shopping arcades, from lampposts and inside cafés.
The role will be responsible for
- Maintaining effective internal communication between the marketing, communications and PR teams at the two organisations, and the Producers.
- Managing the various aspects of the Marketing and communications campaign, ensuring timely deliveryacross multiple channels
- Supporting the teams who are integrating this large project with the everyday demands of the two organisations (Wales Millennium Centre & National Theatre Wales)
- Working with the marketing, communications and PR teams at both Wales Millennium Centre and National Theatre Wales to manage the timeline for the production in respect of associated deadlines across all platforms, including web, print, digital, social media and PR.
- Supporting the delivery of the digital aspect of the project, working closely with the creative and communications teams to ensure timely and effective delivery
- Attending the monthly Marketing and communications meetings
- Identifying possible pinch points in the campaign, and assisting the teams in managing these moments.
- Assisting in regular monitoring of participation, attendance and sales statistics
- Identifying to the Producers aspects which need to be discussed with the Roald Dahl Estate
- Reporting to the shows’ Director, Producers and stakeholders
- Working within the financial parameters of the budget assigned
- Assisting with the collation of attendance statistics and project evaluation
Key skills
●Well organised with excellent administrative skills
●Excellent IT skills
●Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
●Experience of working in marketing and communications in a management role
●Proven experience of working on multi-channel campaigns, with working knowledge of digital media
●Have a understanding of deadlines and managing a large team to achieve them
●Ability to work to, and manage, a budget
●Have a working knowledge of large scale events
●Knowledge of both organisations and their work
Period of contract
midMay – 30th September – 40 days within this period

Office base
The Production is being managed from the National Theatre Wales office. Remote working is acceptable.
Fee
40 days at £180 a day = £7200 (plus vat if applicable)
