Lambton Centennial School Council Minutes

Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the October 17th2017 meeting were distributed. Sandy McPhail made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, Stacy Gordon seconded. APPROVED
Principal’s Report – see attached report for full details
- Popcorn sales continue on Fridays, so far about $200.00 in profit has been made. The funds will go towards the Grade 8 trip.
- Interviews occurred on November 23rd and 24th.
- Some classes did Treaty Week activities the first week of November
- There are many exciting things planned for the month of December.
Teachers Report – see attached report for full details
- Dairy Educator has completed visits with various classrooms
- Trips are happening, Shoemaker Elf and Sloans coming up.
Treasurers Report
The funds in the three School Council accounts totals $10,739.51
- Current balance of Milk account $1,894.22
- Current balance of Snack Program account $1067.02. There hasn’t been an invoice from the grocery store since October, so there is probably one coming for around $300.00
- Current balance of General account $7,778.27
Milk Program Update
- The milk program has been going well.
Snack Program Update
- Funds are getting low in the Nutrition program account.
- Julie will design a handout to go out to all families with the December Newsletter that reminds parent they can donate to the snack program in lieu of buying teacher gifts.
Fundraising Update
Little Cesears Kits
- The Little Cesears fundraiser made a profit of $1165.00 for the school council. Last years profit was $963.00
Bundles Creative Creations
- Currently there are 27 people signed up for our Paint Night. We have more than 30 signs being painted as a couple people have signed up to do more than one sign.
- Stacy will ask the teachers that have a communication app to please remind parent about this fundraiser.
- Once Stacy has the final number of participants, she will email Julie to ensure we get enough tables.
- For snacks we will do the following:
- Julie – Hot mulled cider
- Stacy – Taco dip and chips and plates
- Joanne – cookies or squares
- Sandy – cheese/crackers/meat tray
- Cindy – ham roll ups
- At the School – water bottles
Pine River Cheese
- Pine River will be delivering the cheese orders on December 19th. Julie and Stacy agreed to help Joanne sort the order.
- We will send out a reminder on the Friday that the cheese must be picked up on the 19th.
