7th Grade Standards-Based Altered Lesson Plans for

Milestones Testing Week April 16-19, 2018

Reading / Watch movie UP and answer standards-based questions.
  • Write your answers directly on the sheet provided.
Scope/Action Magazines
  • Read any article of your choice and write a summary of the article on a separate sheet of loose leaf paper.
All work will be graded!
L. Arts /
  • Read the poem “The Raven.”
  • Summarize each stanza – students will write in their book on the lines provided for each stanza.
  • Complete the additional “Author’s Craft” or “Think About It” activity for each stanza.
  • After completing the poem, students will write a paragraph following the directions on the last page, “Writing to Sources: Explanatory Text.”
  • This should take students 2 days to complete.
  • Students should turn in their books at the end of each work session.
Work will be graded!
Math / •Straka (math 7)/Townsend (math 7) - Please work on the independent study packets given out by your math teacher. These will stay in class at the end of each work session. Please Use pencil and show your work.
•Deloney (math 7) – please complete comic strip project (day 1) and if time allows, complete calendar math (day 2). Leave all work in class with your teacher.
•Walker (AM7) – complete pages 352, 353, 361, 497, and 549 in your grade 7 workbook volume 2.
Walker (math 78)/Townsend (math 78) – complete pages 834 – 838 in your grade 7 plus workbook volume 2.
Science / Day 1: Hand out stapled organizers provided in your box. Students will read Ch. 9-1 Sorting it all Out and answer “reading check” questions along the margins. They will then complete the section review questions and follow up by completing the “directed reading” organizer as well. All answers will be in the packet. Please have them work individually and turn it in at the end of the session. (If you have extra time to fill…they can work on finishing it if necessary)
Day 2: Exact same thing except for using packet provided for Ch. 9-2 on Domain & Kingdoms.
Social Studies /
  • Students will receive individual packets.
  • They should read the text and complete any graphic organizers/questions before moving to the next section.
  • They may highlight, underline, or make notes in the text as desired. Work will be graded!
  • Students should turn in their packet at the end of each work session.
