PHYSICAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
·  To develop an atmosphere that is both positive and physically active
·  To foster a life-long desire to participate in activities that develop a physically active lifestyle
·  To promote positive experiences that will result in a healthy child/reducing stress, building self-esteem, and controlling weight, as well as being fun and inexpensive
·  To provide an opportunity for individuals of all abilities & interests to successfully participate in physical activity in a variety of settings

·  Students will participate in the national/Presidential Physical Fitness testing to see how they score on a national level of fitness
·  Shape Up Wisconsin – K – 12
·  Jump Rope for Heart – (Elementary) sponsored by the American Heart Association

The student will:

·  Be able to design and implement a personal fitness program.
·  Be able to identify and apply principles of practice and conditioning to enhance performance such as understanding that conditioning will allow one to play for longer periods of time without fatigue.
·  Be able to assess personal health – related fitness standards.
