IMPORTANT NOTICE TO STUDENTS ARRIVING IN FALL 2008
Dear Fresh Students Joining ASU in fall 2008:
ISA would like to clarify the following points to new students –
1) ISA has arranged only for TEMPORARY ACCOMODATION to new students. Hence, it is the responsibility of the students to hunt for new apartments.
2) ISA is not responsible for permanent accommodation whatsoever. The apartments blocked by ISA were intended for temporary accommodation to new students. However, the new students can contact the managements of the properties around campus to check how many (if any) apartments available and book the places as soon as possible.
3) The ISA committee members can ONLY GUIDE students to search for apartments. There are lots of apartment complex offices around the University, where the students have to individually go and ask for availability.
4) ISA will assist students but it our humble plea that the new students understand the situation and act independently and fast. ISA committee members can neither guarantee you apartments nor can they accompany the new students to the apartment offices. For the benefit/convenience of the fresh students, we are listing the apartment complexes and their managements in this document.
5) Each apartment complex has 1 Bed and 2 Bed apartments and since demand for the places increases during this time of the year, it is advised that all options should be considered.
6) There are apartment complexes in all directions around the university campus – we are listing the major along with the map of the area for reference.
7) The University provides the Sun Card ID card, Bank Account (in AZ State Credit Union) and a free local bus pass – all of which have to be collected by students. Information is available for this at the Memorial Union in ASU (site - http://www.asu.edu/purchasing/suncard/)
8) Free Computer usage labs called computing commons (CC) and library facilities (with free internet) are available to everyone – CC is located on Orange Street inside university between Memorial union and Physical Education East and 2 libraries – Hayden and Noble Science are also open. Please visit them and make use of these facilities.
