Dear Parents / Caregivers

BOP Volleyball Championships

Your child has been selected in a Junior Bteam in Term 4. We are estimating that we may have fourcompetitive junior teams playing in the Bay of Plenty Championships.

The teams will be advised of their respective training days and times once teams are finalised. All information will also be available on the Mount Maunganui College website.

Bay of Plenty Championships

The cost for the BOP Championship competition will be $100 per player. This covers entry into the competition, coach relief/recognition and upkeep of equipment.

BOP Championships Tournament

This tournament is held over several weekends (and a Friday). There is an expectation that ALL players are available for these games. Teams that are represented are from as far as Opotiki, Taupo and Katikati. There is approximately 50 teams baywide that enter in this tournament.

11 and 12 November 2017

Weekly League

We have had teams play in the weekly league for extra games against local schools who will also be competing at both BOP and NI championships. If the team wishes to enter this league, the cost will be $30 extra. The league runs for the duration of Term 4.

Please return permission / payment slip to the main office no later than Friday 29 September 2017. Payment can be made by direct credit 12-3486-0032080-02 or alternatively to the main office by cash, cheque, Eftpos, credit card (a 1.55% surcharge applies) or transfer from credit balance. Please be aware that if you wish to withdraw your child from the event once you have paid, a partial / full refund will only apply in justifiable circumstances, a medical certificate may need to be provided.

Mount Maunganui College Player Code of Conduct

By signing and completing the permission slip below players are agreeing to abide by the Mount Maunganui College player code of conduct

I will:

  • Always play by the rules
  • Never argue with an official. If I disagree with a decision I will inform the captain, coach or manager during a break or after the competition
  • Control my temper. I understand that verbal abuse of officials and other players or deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted behaviour in any sport
  • Work equally hard for myself and my team
  • Be a good sport and applaud all good plays whether they are made by my team or the opposition
  • Treat all players in my sport as I like to be treated. I will not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor
  • Cooperate with my coach, team mates and opponents
  • Display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat
  • Participate for my own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion
  • Thank the opposition and officials at the end of the game
  • Comply with anti-doping policies.

  • Arrive at the venue or play sport while intoxicated
