4. Major Business of the meeting:
4.1 Open Discussion
D & A Service
The group is interested in exploring project ideas regarding how to address D & A issues across communities. Grant to invite D & A to attend the February meeting and group to consider interest in developing a project for 2014.
4.2 Upcoming initiatives
NSW Youth Council is being held in Dubbo November 22-24. An opportunity exists for services to provide information at the forum and potentially present a session dependent on the number of applications. Contact Mel Morgan for more information
4.3 MHDA Service Update
- Detailed discussion regarding mental health month activities. CRG acknowledges
the work undertaken by the Mental Health Month committee chaired by Samantha Orth (Mission Australia). Copy of the calendar provided to CRG and will forward electronically with the minutes.
- Brief overview of ongoing financial pressures on the service and impact on staffing. The service will commence clinical recruitment over the next week or two.
- Discussion regarding the role of GPs and other providers across the spectrum of mental illness.
