Project Home Again™
Op-Ed Article
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) estimates that almost 800,000 children disappear each year as a result of family abductions, non-family kidnappings, and running away. This averages out to over 2,100 children per day or approximately 90 children per hour—a staggering statistic.
We can greatly increase the chances of these children being returned home safely by raising public awareness and encouraging local involvement. This is why we’re proud to participate in MSCA’s Project Home Again™ here in our community and assist in efforts to find and bring missing children home.
Since 1998, Project Home Again™, the national community outreach program of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA), has been assisting in the search for missing, kidnapped and runaway children. Working in collaboration with NCMEC, Project Home Again™ has assisted in the recovery of almost 160 children nationwide.
The program involves MSCA contractors like (Company Name) placing magnetic posters of missing children from our community on our service vehicles. Since these vehicles are highly visible and travel around the community frequently, it is hoped that many people will see the posters and missing children will be recognized and found. Each poster includes a photo of the child at the time he or she was first reported missing, biographical information, and phone numbers to call if the child has been seen or if anyone has information.
Please be sure to watch for our service vehicles and Project Home Again™ posters. By giving the posters just a few seconds of your time and attention, you may help return a missing child to his or her family.
