Worksop Town FC – The 1861 Club

Dear Worksop Town Supporter,

As the 2016/17 season draws ever closer, and as a past member of our Team 500 Scheme, it is with great pleasure that Worksop Town FC can update you on our progress, and bring you details of the club’s new funding model, The 1861 Club!

Over the past 2 seasons your 500 club membership has not only helped to ‘save’ WTFC from financial meltdown, it has seen us go from strength to strength on and off the pitch – providing a sound financial footing which allows the club to operate within a sensible budget, this has seen us;

  • Continue to challenge at the top end of the NCEL table, finishing 4th in the 2015/16 season, scoring 118 goals in the process!
  • Re-introduce an Under 19’s team, which saw a number of players fed into first team action during last season!
  • Introduce a Worksop Town Ladies team, who went on to have a strong maiden season during 2015/16!
  • Continue the excellent work within the Community, helping youngsters in the town to engage with the club, whilst participating in the game of football!

As the challenges that face Worksop Town FC change and evolve, so to must its membership scheme, hence the introduction for the 2016/17 season of the 1861 Club!

**Introducing the Brand new 1861 Club**

THE 1861 CLUB brings you, Local Affordable football with a chance to help build the clubs future.

Adult Membership:£100 Per Membership PLUS a pay as much as you can afford donation to the Worksop Town FC future ground fund* (*Minimum donation £25 Per Membership)

The 1861 Club Membership would entitle the holder to entry to all home league games for the;

Worksop Town FC First Team

Worksop Town Under 21’s

Worksop Town Under 19’s

Worksop Town Ladies

Junior Membership (Under 16s): £50 Per Membership - £25 goes to the club and £25 into the ground fund! A junior membership allows access to all of the above home league games, and each member also gets one free pass to Captain Jacks in Retford!

The clubs hopes and expectations with the new scheme are that we can make positive steps forward on 2 fronts.

Firstly, the £100 Membership will offer affordable football to our fan base, and people of the town, whilst at the same time continuing to self fund the football club – to enable Mark Shaw to assemble a squad that continues our assault at the top end of the NCEL table for the upcoming season.

Secondly, the ground donation from members is pivotal to the long term future of the club, and its existence within the town of Worksop. ALL monies generated from the ground donation part of the 1861 Club membership will be ring fenced for the sole purpose starting to build a fund for a permanent home in Worksop for Worksop Town FC – We have been homeless for too long, now is the time to act. The MINIMUM donation of £25 will allow us to make huge strides in solidifying our future!

The above objectives are only achievable with the full backing of the Worksop Town fan base. We have been self funded for 2 years now, and it is hoped that the new scheme will be taken up in large numbers to allow us to continue into a 3rd year, as well as making positive steps to funding a future home of the club.

Attached are more details about both the adult and junior membership schemes.

You can buy your new membership as of today in preparation of the new season, an application form is attached, you can pay by BACS, Cash or Cheque (For BACS payments, simply reply to this email requesting the required bank details, and we will forward ASAP).

The club will be holding ‘sign up’ sessions at all of our home pre season friendly’s – please keep an eye on the website for dates and times!
