Homework (Artwork) – Due 2/14 2/19 - Create a caricature of one of Melinda’s teachers (caricature – imitation, impersonation, a representation of a person that is exaggerated for comic effect) based on Melinda’s descriptions of them.

Your picture must be on 8 ½ by 11” paper, be in color, and must be labeled with the teacher’s name. (examples will be shown in class) All pictures drawn in b/w or pencil will not receive any credit. Please use white construction paper supplied.

Melinda’s Teachers:

Mr. Freeman: art; compassionate and helpful; reaches out and offers encouragement to Melinda

Hairwoman: English; so-named because of uncombed string hair drooping on her shoulders

Mr. Neck: social studies; speaks out against “reverse discrimination”, solid build, thick neck

Ms. Keen: biology; large; dresses in garish clothing

Mr. Stetman: algebra

Principal Principal: head of Melinda’s school; authority figure not taken very seriously
