To Mr. Tom Roche,
With reference to your recent correspondence and petition Mr. Colman who is presently out of the Country has asked me to respond to you as follows:
1. Woodie’s DIY only sell timber from a legal certified source.
2. Woodie’s DIY are supplied their plywood by Dublin Plywood and Veneer and they inform us that all Plywood sold in our branches conform to EN13986 which is the current requirement to import plywood into the European Union.
3. Plywood happens to be an infantisnal sales item in our portfolio of products and we are not a first destination for customers to buy plywood.
4. We currently are not selling plywood in any of our stores.
5. You are damaging the good name and reputation of Woodie’s DIY and endangering over 1,000 jobs by your misguided approach to achieve proper and legal use of the World Forests which we all support.
6. I now have no option but to take legal advice and if you do not immediately remove the material from your website and the negative, untrue and exaggerated comments about Woodie’s DIY I will be forced to take action for damages to a brand that has taken years to build giving good employment in these difficult times.
We await confirmation of our requests.
Aileen Keenan
Secretary to Chief Executive
Mr. Ray Colman
