MRS. PARKER Pass/Fail Course
Course Description
General music will focus on a curriculum that encompasses a wealth of information in regards to numerous musical topics. The course is designed to foster a life-long appreciation, exploration, and sensitivity to various aspects of music. The skills acquired throughout this course will be applicable and helpful not only in any future musical endeavor, but also within the community and professional world.

Classroom Rules and Procedures
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:
1. Attend all classes and be on time. – school policy will be enforced
2. Bring a pencil and have your folder (provided)
3. Be attentive during class. When the teacher is talking you are listening. Your questions and comments will be taken by raising your hand. Class participation is a necessity. Bring your energy!!!
STUDENTS WILL NOT:
1. Chew gum in class. Eat or Drink in class.
Grading Policy
Students will automatically begin the marking period with a grade of 100% instead of 0%. The main grading classification is: Class Participation : 100 points (3 per class x 30 classes) +10 free bonus points
TOTAL = 100 points
I will deduct points from the 100 points throughout the marking period, if necessary. Detailed reasons for point deductions can be found below. In order to Pass this class you must maintain 70 points or more. If you fall below 70 points (0-69) you will Fail this course.

Students may have the following points deducted from their grade:
*Minus 1 point: Not prepared for class (pencil, folder, etc.), chewing gum or eating in class
*Minus up to 3 points: Is not musically prepared, does not put forth effort, does not behave appropriately, has poor attitude, etc.
*Minus x amount of points for incomplete projects, group work, homework, etc.
*These specific point deductions will be determined at the discretion of Mrs. Parker
