About the Institute: Following up on our work on usingInnovationScienceas a pathway for schools, districts, and states to take education innovation to scale, the 2017 Institute will highlight the powerof systematic, incremental change. Insteadoftrying to innovate via a few large, rapid, and disruptive redesigns, incremental change involves implementingsmall – but meaningful and cumulative – changes when innovating. While sharing its own work in the science of “thinking small,” CIL is also pleased to feature the work of Dr. Paul Gavoni and Mr. Manny Rodriguez (combining over 30 yearsofexperience in education, behavior change, leadership, and organizational improvement). Dr. Gavoni will share their work based on the publication “Quick Wins” which will be available to all participants. Their approach to innovation through leadership engagement is rooted in thescienceofbehavior in organizational settings and focuses on thesmallsteps that any stakeholder can do to immediately invoke changes that are meaningful, sustainable, and innovative.
