A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE SINCERE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA UPON THE PASSING OF MRS. INEZ “PETTY” WILLIAMS JOHNSON OF CAMDEN ON FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2002, AND TO EXTEND DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the House of Representatives was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Inez “Petty” Williams Johnson, who was called to the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2002; and
Whereas, Inez Williams Johnson was born in Lee County on February 26, 1941, to the late Roy Williams and Rosanna Bishop Williams and was educated in the Lee County Public Schools; and
Whereas, Mrs. Johnson was the loving wife of Elijah “James” Johnson with whom she created a wonderful life and family for fortysix years; and
Whereas, Mrs. Johnson was a loyal, faithful, and dutiful member of Jerusalem Stuckey Baptist Church, where she served as President of the Missionary Ministry; and
Whereas, the people whose lives were fortunate enough to have been touched by Mrs. Johnson will forever have her in their hearts, and they will miss her dearly; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives extends its sympathy to the family and friends of Mrs. Inez W. Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Elijah “James” Johnson; two sons, James Edward Johnson and his wife Cynthia and Theodore Johnson and his wife Alberta; one adopted son, John E. Joe; four daughters, Cynthia Davis and her husband David, Sheila Moses and her husband Donnie, Cathy Johnson, and Yulanda Richardson and her husband Torey; one adopted daughter, Marilyn Addison and her husband Richard; eleven grandchildren; two adopted grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; one brotherinlaw; three sistersinlaw; and a host of other relatives and special friends. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their sincere sorrow upon the passing of Mrs. Inez “Petty” Williams Johnson of Camden on Friday, March 1, 2002, and extend deepest sympathy to her family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Elijah “James” Johnson of Camden.
