Things used to be complicated. We’ve simplified matters:
The new Connex2 task chair from Klöber

(Design: Jörg Bernauer)

Owingen, September 2016. The Connex2 task chair has ergonomics, functionality and aesthetics built into its design to bring a breath of fresh air into the office. The functions are specially developed by Klöber to provide a fully automatic response – a simple way of ensuring dynamic sitting in the perfect position. The seat and backrest have just three adjustment points, which operate via colour-coded controls. In line with the principle “Maximum comfort, minimum fuss”, this is the ideal basis to make Connex2 a real favourite in the workplace.

Deciding on the right office chair can be quite a challenge when you have to evaluate complicated functions or work out which represents the best value for money. All that’s a thing of the past with the new Connex2: it comes with all the features you need in a good task chair as standard. That makes it easy to choose and easy to use – exactly right for office-based employees anywhere in the company.

Good sitting was never this easy

There are just three levers for adjustment – which can be clearly identified from the sitter’s perspective – and with these any user can adapt the Connex2 to their individual requirements, as well as adjusting seat height, depth and lumbar support to suit personal preferences. Everything else happens of its own accord thanks to the automatic point-synchro mechanism and three-dimensional seat movement: the point-synchro mechanism takes the individual bodyweight into account, allowing a wide opening angle when leaning back without losing contact between the backrest and the sitter’s body. The three-dimensional seat movement allows dynamic lateral left-right movement: in fact it is encouraged. This supports the natural movement impulse. The Connex2 also demonstrates its capacity to adapt when the sitter is leaning forwards in a concentrated working position: the seat moves with them, thereby reducing the pressure on the underside of the thigh. The soft-touch armrests drop down when the chair is pushed into the desk, rounding off the intelligent sitting experience.

Highlighted controls to ensure the correct sitting position

Following in the footsteps of the popular Connex office chair from the 1980s, which allowed the option of customising the colour of its distinctive triangle and the central seam of the seat and backrest, the Connex2 brings a few more surprises:as well as the obligatory choice of upholstery material and colour, the user has the opportunity to pick the colourway for the backrest shell, central aluminium element and control levers. The controls are highlighted in colour so that they are clearly recognisable and intuitive to use, making them extremely practical for setting the chair to an ergonomically correct position. They are available in classic black, white-grey or in a striking shade of green or blue. The colours green and blue are the result of a study carried out by Klöberfollowing which a system-wide colour scheme was developed based on the latest workplace trends. Green epitomises the established trend towards natural shades, blue characterises aesthetics and materials of an engineered nature.

Designelementwith supplementary function

Jörg Bernauer, Klöber’s resident designer, is responsible for the Connex2 look, which is primarily characterised by lines and turns from within the same design idiom, as well as familiar curves. Bernauer has placed particular emphasis on the central aluminium element: “It connects the back and armrest with the chair as a whole, like a belt. This formal and functional unit is new on the market, and should be highlighted as one of the unique design features of Connex2.”So the special hybrid armrest is an effective eye-catcher with added value: thanks to this feature it will never be necessary to buy individual armrests. At the same time it offers outstanding comfort, because the arms always move with the sitter as they recline, thus maintaining comfortable contact with the lower arms.
