PREPARATION

CHASSIS
· Always raced—never wrecked. Perfect straight, rust-free floor pan and frame. This is a steel floor pan car.
· Original roll bar was removed when rules change required full cage. The sophisticated lightweight chrome moly cage was constructed in by Horst Kwech.
· Seating—Original seat replaced with Mark Donahue fiberglass racing seat that is still provides state of the art body protection. Fiberglas reworked to fit medium large butt.. Leg room improved to fit 6’ driver and left foot dead pedal added.
· Gages—Original tach, oil pressure, oil and water temp gages. Paul Spruell added exhaust temp gage for tuning purposes..
BODY
· Fiberglass fenders added in early 70’s.
· Aluminum bodywork still in excellent condition.
· Underside and inside is still original paint.
· Outside was repainted in 1995. It is still bright and shiny Alfa red, but fiberglass has developed a few cracks from racing. Minimal race rash only. No damage needing repair.
· Original Autodelta Plexiglas rear side windows.
· Bolt on front air dam, not installed.
ENGINE
· Autodelta engine. No serial number, since the original Autodelta engine #19430 was blown up and the block scrapped. Built with fresh new block. These come with no numbers.
· PFS rebuild: Nitrited crank turned .010/.010". JE 79mm pistons. Original 10.6 Autodelta cams. New valves and springs. Ports reworked for better flow. Dynoed at 171 HP ( original Autodelta dyno sheet was 161). Only 12 hours on rebuild.
· Original magnesium front cover, oil pan and cam cover.
HEADERS
· Original GTA with original Kwech orange paint, faded but still in tact.
FUEL SYSTEM
· Weber 45 DCOE carbs with original Autodelta curved air horns.
· All new aeroquip lines.
· New fuel cell bladder made for original cell housing.
· New foam in fuel cell
OIL SYSTEM
· New aeroquip lines..
· Original GTA oil cooler, sonically cleaned.
WATER COOLING
· Original GTA radiator, reconditioned (rodded out).
· new hoses
GEARBOX
· Original GTA lightweight close ratio gearbox: 2.54? 1.70/ 1.26 /1.00/.85
· Original magnesium bell housing and tail housing.
· Rebuilt by Paul Spruell.
FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH
· Original Autodelta 200mm super lightweight steel flywheel.
· New GTA pressure plate.
· Replacement Ferodo disc.
DRIVESHAFT
· Original/rebuilt.
DIFFERENTIAL
· 4.55 ratio locked rear end.
· New axle bearings.
STEERING
· There is nothing like spherical rod ends to make the steering input positive and crisp. For the 2006 season, I replaced the stock rod ends with precision heim joints.
· The steering arms were converted to my new aluminum close ratio steering arms.
· Bump steer was corrected to near perfect.
SUSPENSION FRONT
· Knuckle risers and original ______mm front swaybar.
· Paul Spruell stiffer spring for better handling.
· Paul Spruell heim joint lower ball joint replacing sloppy original.
SUSPENSION REAR
· Original Autodelta magnesium sliding block setup.
· Original Autodelta spherical bearing trailing arm bushings.
· Original Autodelta low mount _____ in sway bar.
· Paul Spruell replacement spring to match stiffer front springs.
SHOCKS
· Original Konis replaced with Carrera. I tried to use a set of new Konis like it came with to keep it original. In testing they were two seconds slower than Carrera at Road Atlanta so we switched back to Carrera.
WHEELS/TIRES
· Original 7x14” magnesium alloy Campagnolo wheels with Hoosier 205/60-14 Hoosier Street TD tires.
BRAKES
· Original Dunlop calipers removed and brakes converted to ATE.
· Paul Spruell converted master cylinder to ATE dual chamber unit to comply with SVRA rules. Re-sleeved and rebuilt by Whitepost Restorations. .
· New Porterfield RX race pads.
· Fluid needs changing every year, so it will need changing. .

CURRENT STATE OF PREPARATION
It was checked out ant ready to race as of June, 2006. I had planned to run four selected vintage events this year, but business got in the way of pleasure. I had to let it sit in the shop again for the 6th year in a row. Tires are good enough for testing and practice, but it will need fresh rubber for the feature race. Change the brake fluid next spring and it is ready to race
