Principal – Sallas Mahone ElementarySchool (2018-2019)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides instructional leadership to staff, including curriculum planning, review and implementation, and professional development. Responsible for day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline as necessary and enforces school policy.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must hold or be eligible for Georgia certification in Educational Leadership
  • Must have previous school leadership experience
  • Must have at least five years of teaching experience
  • Proven record of dynamic educational leadership, including a strong background in curriculum and instruction
  • Collaborative leadership style to include strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a community with high expectations for its students and school
  • Relates to students with mutual respect while carrying out a positive and effective discipline policy
  • Requires exemplary leadership through high academic and instructional standards, faculty development, student conduct, and fiscal responsibility
  • Enjoys working with students and parents; and is passionate about the continuous development of excellence in education
  • Leads, supervises, and develops a high-functioning team of educators and personnel who are focused on driving superior academic performance
  • Evaluates performance and effectiveness of staff and programs. Coordinates in-service training for staff
  • Prepares the school’s budget and works with the Finance Department on budgeting/purchasing
  • Recommends teachers and other staff members to the Superintendent with appropriate documentation for selection
  • Maintains a school-wide safety plan
  • Maintains responsibility for the care of buildings and grounds
  • Supports teachers and staff personnel in their efforts to create and maintain high standards of classroom instruction and all related activities
  • Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations for education standards /requirements
  • Ensures effective collection and analysis of student performance data to identify struggling students, curriculum concerns, and teacher quality issues
  • Directs all daily operations of the school campus, supervises and coordinates the work of all assigned certified and classified personnel
  • Be directly responsible to the Superintendent or designee in carrying out other duties which may be assigned from time to time

SALARY:TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Commensurate with education and experience. 12 Months
