The original company was formed in 1948 as Porcelain Veneer Inc., manufacturing exterior porcelain panels for the service station industry. In 1952, the Company added architectural facing to its product line by manufacturing sun and shade screens for the high rise industrial and commercial buildings. In 1968 the Company added continuous steel sheet doors to its product line. This door revolutionized the door industry and with this success the Company put all its resources in this product line and formed a new Company as Porvene Roll-A-Door, Inc. In 1993 the Company was restructured and changed its name to Porvene Doors, Inc.
Since 1968, the Company has been the leader in the continuous steel sheet door and has branched out into the Heavy Duty Rolling Steel Slat Door. In 1990 the Company introduced this product line with the same high standards that were used in the introduction of the continuous steel sheet door. The design and operation features of the slat door are superior within the industry and can meet the needs and requirements of most applications. The Company has also introduced a Rolling Grille and a Steel Backed Insulated Rolling Steel Door with the same high standards as its other products. In 2011, Porvene introduced a line of Commercial Sectional doors. The line includes Standard Lift, High Lift, Vertical Lift, and soon to be Insulated Steel Backed Door to be introduced in 2012.
Porvene provides its dealers, when needed, calculations on environmental LEED (U.S. Green Building Council). It also offers, when called for in specifications, seismic calculations to meet our customer's needs.
As a leader within the industrial and commercial door industry, the Company will always manufacture a superior product with innovative designs and techniques to meet our customer's needs.200 Series: This product can be insulated, wind locked, and built with a wicket door. The complete line is available, depending on size, as hand operated or chain operated and can be upgraded to electric operation.
300 Series: Offers the economy of a sheet door with the added strength of a service door. Available with 22 or 24 gauge steel slat curtain (some sizes available only in 24 gauge) and can be wind locked. The complete product line comes standard with chain operation and can be upgraded to electric operation.
400 Series: Offers 24, 22, 20 and 18 gauge slats for additional strength. Our new and innovated slat design reduces the snapping sounds that come from metal to metal contact common to rolling steel slat doors when opening and closing. The product line comes standard with chain operation and can be upgraded to electric operation.
500 Series: Coiling grille constructed using aluminum tubes over solid steel rods giving added strength for security and features low friction nylon blocks mounted to the bottom bar for quiet operation. The complete line is available, depending on size, as hand operated or chain operated and can be upgraded to electric operation.
600 Series: Offers insulating values of R-Factor = 5.4 and U-Factor = 0.185. The insulation material is made from environmentally safe polyisocyanurate with aluminum facers adhered to the effective thermal barrier. The product line comes standard with chain operation and can be upgraded to electric operation.
