Work Experience
Previous experience required to do the job. / At least three years’ experience of managing busy events, conferencing and banqueting operations including food and beverage in a comparable operation.
Experience of various ICT systems to include (as a minimum) MS Office and EPOS systems.
Commercial acumen and financial literacy – the candidate must have experience of managing all financial aspects of a business including P&L, wage%, GP’s and revenue and yield management and executing events within budget in order to deliver bottom line performance increases across a multi-faceted operation.
Track record of identifying and maximising new business opportunities and working with new and current clients to build and maintain relationships and add value to existing accounts.
Possess experience of all aspects of people management including recruiting, developing, coaching, training and supporting personnel.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self and others. / Experience of managing a large team in the hospitality sector.
Managing a team to execute large, complex, multi-day events.
Experience of writing successful tenders
Experience of creative use of e-marketing including social media.
Education/Qualifications
E.g. academic or professional qualifications. / Third level qualification (diploma or degree) in a related discipline, however, relevant and successful on the job experience will be considered. / Qualifications in related disciplines e.g. event management, hospitality management, business management, sales and marketing, ICT, accounting, human resources and health and safety.
