Technology Summit Theme:

“All Aboard: Full Steam Ahead”- Staying on track through the gateway of technology.

Technology Summit Topics:

Proposals will be accepted for:

Presentations - Team or individual proposals are accepted. Workshop sessions will run approximately 50 minutes allowing for in-depth presentation and Q&A.

Panels - Panel discussions will be considered. They may be organized and submitted as a group by a panel coordinator, or an individual may submit their particular viewpoint to become part of a panel.

Interactive Demonstrations – Workshop sessions featuring real world scenarios and advanced techniques are encouraged.

Vendor Product Showcase – Gold and Platinum vendors will have a range of 5-8 minutes (depending on number of showcases) near the Exhibit area on a first come first served basis to present their product(s) to practitioners desiring to hear a high level demonstration/presentation. (separate application process).

Presentation Guidelines:

Content – The Technology Summit seeks to educate its audience and not promote any specific products. Exhibit space is available for any promotional activity. Only presentations that are related to corrections technology and product-neutral will be considered. Presentation selections will be made based upon desired topics, flow of content, educational value and understanding of the content.

Note: An example of the presentation structure would flow from:

1.  Thesis Statement - State the identified problem

2.  Magnitude - Explain the impact and dimensions of the problem

3.  Steps - Detail the process used to address/solve the problem

4.  Demonstrate - Show the chosen applied solution

5.  Success Story - Show the end product with resultant measure of success

Agenda Schedule – The conference organizers will set the day and time for each presentation, in order to optimize the sequencing and flow of content and topics. Workshop sessions will end no later than 5:00 pm each day. CTA will notify all selected presenters by March 2017.

Speaker Guidelines:

·  Each workshop MUST have Agency Practitioner (State, Federal or local agency) participation.

·  If the workshop includes vendor participation, the presenter’s company MUST be registered as a Business Partner.

·  Presenters MUST register for the summit. All speakers and practitioners will pay a registration fee.

·  The Corrections Technology Association does not pay an honorarium or travel expenses to its speakers.

·  Presenters must submit outline of presentation to track chair prior to the conference. Track chairs will work with presenter to ensure that flow, size and scope of presentation is proportionate to the allotted time and fulfills the audience needs.

·  During the presentation, business partners may indicate they have a booth in the exhibit hall; however, under no circumstances are specific products and/or services allowed to be promoted in the workshop session.

·  Each workshop session room will be equipped with a laptop, LCD projector and screen.

·  CTA MUST receive an electronic copy of the presentation for publication on the Association’s website following the conference.
