AHOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CELEBRATEDORMAN HIGH SCHOOL’S RACHEL REISTROFFER ON WINNING THE 2016 CLASS AAAAA GIRLS STATE SWIM CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE 500YARD FREESTYLE AND TO CONGRATULATEHER AND HER COACHES ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON.

Whereas, having set a new school record in both the 500yard freestyle and 400yardfree relay, junior Rachel Reistroffer took home a new honor on October 14, 2016: winner of the 2016 Class AAAAAGirls State Swim Championship in the 500yard freestyle; and

Whereas, at the inaugural Class AAAAA state swim meet, this phenomenal distance swimmerbroke her own school record by nine seconds in the 500 free. All her hard work paid off, and she provided valuable points at the most important meet of the year; and

Whereas, an AllRegion and AllState selection, Rachel helped lead the way for the 2016 Dorman girls swim team, which won its region competition and had a strong finish of fourth overall in team scores at the AAAAAstate swim meet; and

Whereas, in addition to achieving AllRegion and AllState status, Rachel was named Most Valuable Swimmer for the swim team, scholar athlete, Dorman Athlete of the Week, and Cavaleader; and

Whereas, Head Coach Amy Bailey, drawing on her own athletic skill and experience, trained Rachel all the way to the top of her swim competition; and

Whereas, appreciative of her deservedly fine reputation as a swimmer, as well as that of the entireDorman girls swim team, the Houseis pleased to commend Rachel Reistroffer on her title win. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, celebrateDorman High School’s Rachel Reistroffer on winning the 2016 Class AAAAAGirls State Swim Championship in the 500yard freestyle and congratulateher and her coaches on an outstanding season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Rachel Reistroffer, Head Coach Amy Bailey, and PrincipalKen Kiser of Dorman High School.
