THE NEW CENTER CHURCH IN KIGALI

I have had the great privilegeto visit Kigali, Rwanda together with the MFA leader in Kenya, John Absai. On Wednesday the 2.nd of March we began a Pastor´s conference. 25 pastors attended from Congo and 2 from Burundi and in addition to that many pastors and workers attended from Rwanda. Estimated 500 participated in the seminar. Trosngistan´s leader from Norway, Kjell Halvorsen and another board member, Karsten Thorsen came also to share this great occasion.

There was great expectation in the air and the Lord was blessing the teaching abundantly. We ended the seminar on Friday with an anointing service, when all the participants were anointed with oil and prayed for. All were mightily blessed and they received a fresh anointing for a more prosperous ministry.

On Saturday the great day had come for the dedication of the new church building together with spacious offices. After many years of struggles the Maranatha church in Rwanda has been able to construct a beautiful center church at a very strategic place in Kigali. The building can take up to 1000 people.

I myself and Kjell Halvorsen were given the honor to speak outside the church and cut the ribbon. There was a great joy among the crowd witnessing the occasion. After the opening the church was filled up with excited members and other visitors. The new leader of the Maranatha church in Rwanda, Rev John Baptiste, gave a moving speech concerning all the travails and labors, which now had resulted in this wonderful center building. The vice leader Rev. Frederick Gafaranga shared his great thankfulness for the accomplishment of the new center. The Alliance leader in Kigali also spoke and congratulated the leaders of Maranatha.

The leaders of Maranatha Mission of Rwanda was also anointed and ordained by Rev. Curt Johansson together with Rev. Kjell Halvorsen. We, surely, feel that this is a new beginning for our sister church in Rwanda. The presence of the Lord was so real during this day and the joy among the people attending was overflowing. Different choirs singing to the glory of God also contributed greatly to the eminence of this dedication service.

On Sunday the Church was filled up again and there was such a wonderful atmosphere in the building. The singing was glorious and when I ministered the Word, I felt such a flow the Holy Spirit. My message was “Vision, Passion and Purpose”. God was touching many sick and suffering and all the praises belong to Him, who died for our sins and rose again on the third day.

Please, continue to remember the church in Rwanda, Congo and Burundi in your fervent prayers.
