METHODOLOGY AND STRUCTURE OF THE MEETING
The event will be held in two parts: i) Validation Workshop: Strengthening Institutional and Legal Systems for the Integrated Management of Water Resources in the Amazon Basin, providing an opportunity to present, discuss and validate the preliminary results from the legal and institutional strengthening activities, and ii) III Meeting of the Project Steering Committee (PSC).

Based on the input from the participating countries and the analysis of the information submitted by the consultants in the context of the activities of legal and institutional strengthening, the workshop will discuss options and recommendations to improve the capacity of local and national government agencies, and basin level institutions to implement IWRM actions in the Amazon basin, including cooperation mechanisms among the eight countries.
The workshop will consist of plenary sessions, followed by opportunities for discussion, and will be divided into three blocks. In the context of the first block, all National Focal Points will have room for a brief (10 minutes) presentation on the existing national legal framework for IWRM and the process of installation of the respective national Inter-ministerial Committees.
Following, the preliminary results of the analysis of national legal regulations in the field of IWRM and the inventory of international agreements signed by member countries will be presented, with special emphasis on identification of spaces and opportunities for cooperation on transboundary water resources. In the sequence, the floor will open for discussion.
Finally, the third section will be dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the preliminary findings and recommendations of the institutional strengthening activity, aimed to improve national and regional institutional capacity in support of IWRM in the Amazon basin.
B. III Project Steering Committee Meeting.
The Steering Committee meeting will be chaired by a national representative elected from the group and will have the participation of the National Focal Points from the ACTO Member Countries and the representatives of the Implementing Agency (UNEP) and the Executing Agency (PS/ACTO). The PSC will review the project progress and achievement, formulate recommendations and adopt the project budget and work plan for the year 2014. At the opportunity, the results and recommendations of the Mid Term Review (MTR) will be presented to the PSC members as well as a general overview of the TDA/SAP methodology and national progress towards the formulation of the TDA/SAP, oriented to provide guidelines and clarifications. Finally, a presentation on the activities carried out in the context of the Project Amazon: Regional Action in the Area of Water Resources (ACTO/ANA/ABC) will be made, considering inputs for the work plan for 2014.
The official launching of the project webpage will take place at the end of the event.

Registration of participants will take place at the place of the workshop from 8:30 am on November 21, 2013.
2. Costs of participation
The costs for airfare, transportation , lodging and meals (breakfast and lunch) of the two (2 ) Delegates of ACTO Member Countries will be covered with funds from the GEF Amazon Project . In case that ACTO Member Countries choose to include more than two representatives in their delegations , participation costs of additional representatives should be covered by the country itself .
3. Cost Aids
The GEF Amazon Project will deliver costs aids for dinners and airport departure taxes to the Delegates. Please note that when making cost aids boarding passes will be requested.
4. Transportation
Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, find the shuttle sent by the Hotel Suites del Bosque. It is recommended that the two delegates per country coming on the same flight could use the same vehicle .

The accommodation will be covered from day 20 to November 23, 2013, breakfast is included in the cost of the hotel. The room has free internet service .
Telephone charges, drinks, laundry, mini - bar and other amenities in the room or on the premises of the hotel will be considered personal, therefore, must be paid by each participant.
6. Air tickets
Delegates of Member Countries will receive electronic tickets from the GEF Amazon Project in their emails through the travel agency .
7. Visas
None of the participating countries require a visa .
8. Working languages of the event
The meeting will be held in two languages, Spanish and English, for which simultaneous translation will be provided.
9. Health insurance
Each participant is asked to manage their own health insurance, in the event that a participant requires emergency medical attention, it must be covered by the participant.
10. Foreign currency exchange
The official currency of Peru is the Sol. Official exchange rate isUSD$ 1 equivalent aprox. to 2.74 Soles , according to the Central Bank . It may change in the exchange houses . and also at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima
12. Electricity
In Lima, Peru , electricity is 220 V.
13. Climate
Lima has a pleasant climate with an average temperature of 18 degrees this time .
