VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL@PWCS ONLINE ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Begin by accessing the Course Catalog:

Be Prepared: You need to know your student ID# (6 digits for PWCS students), base school name (see below for instructions on how to enter the school name), counselor name and email. If you are a non-PWCS student, you will also need to enter your school division name and your race/ethnicity code [see page two for codes].

TWO CHOICES: New user or Current/Previous user

New user: If you’ve never taken a course before, click on Register and create a learner/student account. Please input the student’s information and an email that can quickly be checked for confirmation. A parent email is preferable for quick access. You will receive an auto-confirmation email with a link to click to confirm your registration. You may then return to the catalog and LOGIN as a learner. (Click the orange link for Course Catalog- Register) You can then browse for your course and enroll. This is a three step process: (1)Register, (2)Confirm, (3)Enroll. Courses can be accessed to complete the Program Orientation 5 days prior to the session start date. At that time students can visit their course at

Current user: If you’ve taken a course before, click Log-in and you will see the VHS/D2L login page. Input your username and password and then click on the orange link for course catalog. If your name does not appear in the top right corner, click login again. Once you see your username in the top right corner. CLICK THE DOWN ARROW AND PROFILE: Complete the information. Then click Browse Courses to enroll. Courses can be accessed to complete the Program Orientation 5 days prior to the session start date. At that time students can login at

Confirmation: Students can confirm enrollment in the course catalog.After enrollment, students need to submit tuition and read the summer session schedule to know when and where to being the orientation.Please read the following on the website: Tuition, Student Criteria, and Session Schedule:

Your “base” school for purposes of VHS enrollment is the school you physically attend!!

Base School Names in PWCS *Please type them exactly as listed here*: Battlefield High School, Brentsville High School, Colgan High School, Forest Park High School, Freedom High School, Gar-Field High School, Hylton High School, New Directions Alternative Ed Center, Osbourn Park High School, PACE East, PACE West, Patriot High School, Potomac High School, Stonewall Jackson High School, Thomas Jefferson High School, Woodbridge High School. NOTES: If you are a middle school student, enter the full name of your school. If you are a rising freshman, enter your rising HS. If you are Homeschooled indicate this as your school. If you are a non-PWCS student, enter the FULL name of your school.

  • TO UN-ENROLL: If you change your mind and want to un-enroll from a course, login to course catalog, click my courses and then unenroll. If you have paid tuition, you need to email Ms. Jones for a refund. There are no refunds for summer after the session starts.
  • WAITLIST: If you are placed on a waitlist for a course, you will automatically be enrolled when a space becomes available and you will receive an email confirmation.
  • ACCESS: Students will not be able to access their course until the program orientation window opens five (5) days prior to the session start date. After completing the program orientation and passing all quizzes, the full course will be available on the session start date.
