Solaris™ Telemetry Controlled Dome Camera Specifications

1. General Tender Requirements

1.01 The indoor/outdoor CCTV camera Dome drive system shall consist of a discreet, miniature camera Dome; variable speed/high speed pan and tilt drive unit with continuous 360degree rotation; high resolution, 1/4-inch, colour CCD camera; optical and digital zoom, auto focusing, motorized zoom lens; integral receiver; and quick-install mounting.

1.02 The product specified shall be a domed camera system available in pendant, wall or in-ceiling mounted versions designed for indoor or outdoor surveillance applications. The camera system consists of an integrated high resolution, CCD camera with a 1/4-inch imager. The lens shall be equipped with auto-focus with a manual override facility.

1.03 The units shall incorporate a variable speed pan and tilt mechanism with an intelligent integral receiver / driver that will acquire any pre-set positions within one second.

1.04 To allow accurate manual control the maximum speed of the pan and tilt will be reduced and will decrease in proportion to the level to which the lens is zoomed in.

1.05 There will be a version of the camera that will switch from daylight colour operation to a higher sensitivity night time monochrome mode. This operation will be configurable so that switching is either automatic when light levels fall below a threshold level or manual from the system switcher/controller keyboard.

1.06 The camera shall be offered as standard product with a clear viewing hemisphere for versions fitted with a colour/mono camera and a smoked hemisphere for versions fitted with a colour camera.

1.07 All configurable features supported by the camera module, such as frame integration, shall be accessible and remotely configurable using an on-screen menu system.

1.08 The camera range shall support options for both 18x and 26x optical zoom lens capability. A full 12x digital zoom shall then be functional once the maximum 18x/26x optical zoom limit has been reached. The 12x digital zoom lens shall be on/off selectable.

1.09 A privacy masking feature shall be provided that allows creation of up to 24 rectangular masks that prohibit areas of the field of view from being seen even if the camera is panned, tilted, or zoomed.

1.10 The camera shall allow the storage of up to 99 preset scenes. A tour function shall be available to consecutively display up to 32 of the preset scenes for a programmed dwell time in up to 4 separate tours. Any or all of the presets may be included or excluded from the tours.

1.11 The camera shall allow storage of (x4) patterns that can be recalled either via on-screen menu’s or via pre-assigned pre-sets to allow 3rd party control solutions. Memory allocation shall be fully dynamic.

1.12 Configurable features supported by the camera module shall be accessible and remotely adjustable using a hierarchical (installer/operator) pass-code protected on-screen menu system.

1.13 The Dome shall have the facility to display on-screen text if required. The text shall be programmable to include camera number and name along with preset position, sector, tour, pattern and alarm information.

1. General Tender Requirements contd.

1.14 The 360-degree pan revolution of the camera shall be split into 16 equal sectors. Titles shall be configurable for individual sectors, so that the title can be displayed on screen whilst the camera is travelling within the sector.

1.15 Full on-screen diagnostic information shall be available for use by installation and service personnel.

1.16 The Dome shall consist of two parts, a head unit and an external termination unit (XTU). The Dome and external termination unit shall be connected using a single RJ45 (CAT5) cable. The power supply and all power, video, alarm, relay and telemetry terminations shall be contained within the external termination unit.

1.17 Configuration of camera address and telemetry settings shall be via a menu-driven LCD in the external termination unit.

1.18 It shall not be necessary for the installer or service engineer to open the Dome head unit for normal installation, configuration and servicing.

1.19 In addition to a tamper switch on the external termination unit, the facility for an additional 7 normally-closed or normally-open alarm contact pairs shall be provided within the external termination unit. The actions of the Dome in response to alarms annunciated via these inputs shall be remotely configurable via on-screen menus, and shall include the option to activate a change over relay fitted within the external termination unit.

1.20 It shall be possible to enclose interface modules such as video servers, fibre optic, or radio transceivers within the external termination unit.

1.21 The gain and high frequency lift of the composite video output from the Dome shall be remotely configurable via on-screen menus.

1.22 The camera shall support the following protocols: Siemens CCDA, Bewator Molynx and PCCon, Ernitec, Pelco D, Pelco P, Philips, Photon, VCL, Vicon and Videmech Universal.

1.23 The camera shall be available in wall mount, pipe (pendant) mount, ceiling tile-mounted versions. Proper mounting hardware kits, excluding pipe, shall be provided according to the model specified.

1.24 The Dome shall be supplied with 10m long pre-wired lead for connecting video and telemetry data between the Dome head and the external termination unit.

1.25 The external termination unit for each Dome shall include a power supply with a 110-230Vac input voltage range.

1.26 The Dome and external termination unit shall be protected against dust and water ingress to IP67.

1.27 The software in the Dome shall be held in flash memory and shall include the facility to be upgraded by connecting a PC to the telemetry port of the external termination unit via a suitable RS232-485 interface.

1.28 The Dome shall be compatible with the following control hardware: SIMATRIX NEO, CKA4820, SISTORE AX, MX.

1.29 Camera configuration settings shall be stored in both the camera head and the external termination unit. It shall be possible to up load or down load saved configuration settings as required.
