JOB OBJECTIVE
Performs skilled and manual labor maintaining park grounds and recreation facilities.
Operates light to medium size tractor/mower construction equipment and performs general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates and maintains mower, backhoe, dump truck and other light and medium construction equipment.
Performs basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry repair and maintenance task on all park facilities.
Works with forester on cutting down and removing trees from city right of ways and parks.
Cuts grass and trim trees and hedges; plants and maintains plants, grass, shrubs and trees in parks.
Sprays for weeds and insects in recreation areas and the city.
Paint signs and park buildings and facilities.
Cleans park and recreation facilities; cleans pavilions, scrubs toilets, sinks and urinals, sweeps and mops floors, picks up trash, replenish supplies in restrooms.
Set up chairs, tables, sound equipment for events.
Performs other related duties as required.

The principal duties of all of these positions are performed outdoors and may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of power equipment and hazardous chemicals.
