Prelude

Call to Worship Psalm 9:11

*Opening Hymn 225

Come, Christians, Join to Sing

*Corporate Prayer of Confession & Silent Confession

Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; we have done those things which we ought not to have done, and there is no health in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us miserable offenders. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those that are penitent, according to your promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

*Assurance of Forgiveness Isaiah 1:18

*Blessed Assurance 572

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of his Spirit, washed in his blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long! This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long!

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Featured Element of Worship: Communion

We need to realize that what we do in communion is more than just a symbolic act. 1 Corinthians 10:16 teaches us that when we partake of the elements, we are actually participating in the body and blood of Christ Himself. We are communing with Jesus, as he is spiritually present in a special and mysterious way for us in this sacrament. And as we are each joined to Christ, we also experience a communion with each other as we are joined together in one body—Christ’s body—of which we are various members. Let us remember this as we approach the table this morning.
