DEAN - SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Baldwin Wallace University( is accepting applications for the position of Dean of the School of Business. The University seeks an experienced leader who reports to the Provost and can work effectively on- and off-campus to plan and execute strategic initiatives that advance the mission of the School of Business and the University. There are three (3) chairs and six (6) directors that report to this position.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experienced leadership in working effectively on- and off-campus to plan and execute strategic initiatives that advance the mission of the School of Business and the University.
- Ability to have a productive presence in the business community of northeast Ohio.
- Has the vision to continue to build a successful School of Business within a dynamic liberal arts university.
- Strong communicator who will represent the administration and the faculty and staff.
- A leader who, in collaboration with the other Deans, can increase interdisciplinary work across campus.
- Serves as the spokesperson for the School of Business on- and off-campus and has leadership responsibility for all graduate and undergraduate curricula.
- A leadership role in the University's outreach to the northeast Ohio and broader community through co-curricular programs within the School and the Center for Professional Development as well as initiatives outside of the School of Business.
- Responsibility for fiscal and academic planning, faculty and staff professional development and performance review, student recruitment and retention, revenue generation through enrollment growth and extramural funding, and appropriate expense control and management.
Qualifications:
- an MBAordoctoral degree in an appropriate field;
- documented proficiency in effective strategic planning and collaborative leadership;
- a history of working with corporations and their management leaders;
- an understanding and demonstrated success of how business higher education works across all areas of the University;
- superb communication skills;
- familiarity with higher education; and
- a demonstrated track-record of working within diverse communities and embracing inter-culturalism from the broadest possible perspective.
About the University
Founded in 1845, Baldwin Wallace University is an independent, private, comprehensive, master's-large university rooted in the liberal arts located 14 miles southwest of Cleveland's Public Square. The University enrolls approximately 3,000 full-time undergraduate students, 400 part-time students, and 800 graduate students. The School of Business enrolls approximately 1,100 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students who receive substantial professional experience through participation in student organizations, internships, and grant-funded initiatives.
The School's mission is to provide practical, principled, and powerful programs of study in support of the University's mission to develop contributing, compassionate citizens of an increasingly global society. The School offers undergraduate majors in accounting, business administration, finance, health care management, human resources management, industrial and organizational psychology, innovation and entrepreneurship, international business, management, and marketing. Graduate programs include an MBA for working professionals, with specializations in healthcare, accounting, human resources, and analytics.
