Call for Interns

If you are interested in gaining experience in policy and financing forsustainable energy,you can spend two to six months contributing to the activities of an international partnership!

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) is an active global partnership that structures policy initiatives for clean energy markets and facilitates financing for sustainable energy projects. The initiative was launched by the United Kingdom along with other partners at the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development in August 2002.Visit more information.

The REEEP regional secretariat for Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey (hosted by theRegionalEnvironmentalCenterfor Central and Eastern Europe) is searching for an intern to assist with some of the following activities:

  • collecting best practice case studies on financing and policy/regulations for sustainable energy in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)/Turkey;
  • developing policy overviews for the CEE countries;
  • developing an overview of investors active in the region;
  • maintaining and updatingthe regional experts database;
  • contributing to specific projects of the REEEP Secretariat, such as the contest and training for journalists in writing on sustainable energy, and the sharing of experiences between CEE countries on financing and policies of energy efficiency in buildings.

Applicants should be:

  • able to write and work proficiently in English;
  • interested in, and knowledgeable of, one or more of the following fields: renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy policy and regulations, or energy financing;
  • willing to join a dynamic international team; and
  • able to keep deadlines and handle tasks responsibly.

This is a non-paid internship. Interns will be expected to attract funding to cover their travel to Hungary(if applicable) and personal costs incurred during their stay. In exceptional cases the REC may be able to cover partial or full travel and accommodation costs, or offer a living allowance. These opportunities require a well justified request from the applicant or sending institution.

There is no application deadline. Please indicate in your application when you are able to start the internship and how long you are willing to work for the REEEP.
