Each appeal must contain this completed Appeal Form (including completed Academic Plan on page two) as well as an accompanying letter. The letter should explain why minimum requirements(i.e. unsatisfactory grades) were not met and describe what has changed or will change that will ensure you are able to meet the requirements in the future. Note: If you are appealing after an absence from SNHU, you are encouraged to submit the transcript(s) from any other institution(s) attended as evidence of academic improvement.

  • I acknowledge I have read the policy information about Academic Standards and/or Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • I understand that, if my appeal is granted, I am expected to follow the academic plan in order to maintain academic progress. My academic plan will be monitored each term to ensure successful completion. Progress will be reviewed at the end of the next semester.
  • Failure to achieve satisfactory academic progress after an academic suspension appeal is granted may result in an academic dismissal, for which there is no appeal.
  • Failure to achieve satisfactory academic progress may result in your financial aid being cancelled.
  • If my financial aid is cancelled in any term for which I am currently or will be enrolled, I understand that the balance due to Southern New Hampshire University is due immediately.

For Financial Aid (SAP) Suspensions, this plan MUST be approved by an academic advisor. The advisor will help ensure that, upon successful completion of the courses listed below, the student will meet federal standards in compliance with the Department of Education’s regulations pertaining to Satisfactory Academic Progress.
For Academic Suspensions, the academic plan can be completed by the student without an advisor.
However, the Academic Advising Office is available to help any student who requires assistance.
The Academic Advising Office is open M-F 8am-4:30pm (closed on university holidays). Students can schedule in-person or phone appointments. The office is located in Green Center 116 and can reached at 603.645.9630.
The Academic Plan is tentative and changes may occur due to course schedule updates and availability. In order to meet the minimum requirements, students must meet the following grades or higher – and cannot withdraw from or fail any courses.
