St. Petersburg Landmark Application Fund
Preserve the ‘Burg (PTB) has created this fund to encourage more individual property owners and neighborhoods to pursue landmark designation for properties within the City of St. Petersburg. Increasing the number of locally designated properties, including districts, is a positive and tangible action that will assist in keeping St. Petersburg special.
This fund is available to individuals, neighborhood associations and other groups to cover the full application fee charged by St. Petersburg for applying for individual or district landmark designation. PTB reserves the right to deny an application for landmark application fee payment. PTB encourages applicants to contact us prior to landmark application submittal to make us aware of your interest and intent to seek payment from PTB for the City’s landmark application fee.
All funds will be paid by PTB directly to the City of St. Petersburg. To be eligible for application fee payment by PTB, the applicant must have submitted a complete individual landmark application to the City or a complete district application and the City must have also received the minimum number of property owner votes necessary to allow an application to be considered as set forth within the City’s historic preservation ordinance. Additionally, a complete PTB Landmark Application Fund form must have been provided to PTB along with a copy of the landmark application submitted to the City.

The landmark application fund applicant shall provide email notification to PTB for all public hearings scheduled for consideration of the landmark application for which PTB has paid the application fee.
The landmark application fund applicant shall acknowledge the payment of the City’s application fee by PTB in any media releases issued regarding the landmark application, to the Community Planning and Preservation Commission and to City Council during the applicant’s presentation of their landmark application to the Commission and Council, and as appropriate to the applicant’s membership (if a neighborhood association or organization). The landmark application fund applicant shall provide, as requested by PTB, copies of photographs of the building (s) sought to be designated.
