Novum Group has been trading since 1988. The factory is located in north-east Poland, in the region called Warmia
and Mazury. It provides employment for over 250 employees The whole company is owned by my family and is currently managed by my father, Slawomir Chmielinski. Novum consists of three factories each with a different production profile. All three factories cooperate and complement their manufacturing operations.
Educational Resources Department deals with complex supply of educational institutions in all range of products applied there. The department manufactures and distributes a wide range of toys and games which develop small
and large motor skills, school and kindergarten furniture (wooden furniture sets, desks, chairs, teaching boards, arts & crafts equipment, soft play furniture, etc.) and many more. We arrange and fully equip classrooms with children friendly furniture of our own design but production according to client’s specification is also possible.
Outdoor Playground Equipment Department deals with designing and producing outdoor play equipment from
wood and steel. Our equipment is perfect for schools and kindergartens, town parks, but also private gardens. We recommend our latest playground sets made from weather resistant glue-laminated timber installed on steel footing.
Our offer is full of towers with slides, swings, playhouses and rockers. As an innovation Novum uses HDPE panels for roofs and safety barriers for its sets. The equipment has been has been certified by recognized European Institute
TUV RHEINLAND.
Steel Fabricating Department is a manufacturer of metal framed furniture, security fencing, barriers, gates etc. We cooperate with some well-known European manufacturers such as Casala and VDS, and also a US based company
Leland International. Thanks to our manufacturing capabilities, advanced steel fabrication is not a big challenge.
Please find below the description of our equipment.
For cutting steel profiles we use the CSI 3010 guillotine which can cut sheet metal up to 10mm thickness (450MPa) and 3000mm length. Two band-saws are used for sawing purposes. These are Pedrazzoli and Pillous. They can cut pipes up to 200mm in diameter. An automatic device is used for cutting smaller pipes - diameter 40mm and wall thickness up to 3mm. Four circular sawing machines are used for precise and accurate cutting. All pipes and profiles are 100% mechanically treated mostly by grinding.
Novum Group owns 8 drilling machines including two new pillar drills TSAR 32. One of the drills is equipped with a 2m material feeder.
Novum Group also uses one CNC STARBEND bending machine which can bend sections and tubes up to 40mm diameter with 2mm thick walls, and one 6-axial CNC PROVAR 6-65 UD bending machine by MACRI which can bend sections and tubes up to 65mm diameter with 5mm thick walls; maximum tube length is 5100mm. Furthermore one
TFM bending machine is also used.
For welding by TIG and MIG Lac-Met uses 4 welding robots.
Small production runs are hand welded by experienced welders. For this purpose over a dozen welders for MIG and 4 welders for the TIG method are employed. Some joints are made using the brazing method.
Materials after cutting are always treated by grinding. For this purpose we use a center less grinder and abrasive belt Machine. Welds, joints and all sharp edges are usually hand-treated by using electrical and pneumatic grinders.
We use one turning lathe - spindle/verge 30mm and length up to 1m. However one more lathe with a verge of 90mm
and length up to 1.5m will be acquired in the near future. More complicated lathe work is usually subcontracted to external companies. Hydraulic presses are used for bearing installation.
Novum’s powder-coating shop is equipped with spray booths and drying kilns. Before spraying, the steel product is cleaned in ultrasonic washers. The bare surface is residue-free which enhances the durability of the powder coating.
Only powders which do not contain harmful substances and heavy metals are used. We can coat with any of the colors available from the RAL palette.
For wood fabrication Novum uses:
- 3 CNC’s for processing a computer- programmed milling;
- 2 woodworking saws for formatting furniture boards;
- 2 edge banding machines to straight and curved edges covered with ABS;
- 32 m lacquering line for water based painting and drying with UV lamps;
- One-sided multiple – spindle drilling machine;
- Wide belt sanding machine;
- Single-spindle milling machine;
- Digital printing machine for applying images on furniture and different surfaces.
Novum also has its own sewing facility equipped with two upholstery tables with an electric knife (vertical tailor
cutter), 10 sewing machines for heavy sewing (backstitch), A sewing machine for light sewing, and a multi-purpose VERITAS machine.
