Worship Skills Staff

Worship Skills Coordinator

  • Calls persons to specific tasks in Worship Skills portion of the Program.
  • Coordinates worship service assignments for all groups with the clergy and Deacons Board.
  • Keeps record of expenditures for music, musicals, drama supplies, hand bells or chimes, and any other supplies needed for Worship Skills and reports these to the record keeper.
  • Serves as a general resource to directors and leaders in locating assistants, substitutes, and materials needed.
  • Keeps inventory of resources. For example: music, instruments, scripts, costumes and so forth.
  • Keeps parents informed of schedules and meeting places for rehearsals and worship leadership.
  • Holds up a high vision for what Worship Skills can do for participants individually and as a group.
  • Participates in regular Coordinator Meetings.
  • Prays for the Wednesday Night Program.

Children’s Choir Director(s)

  • Cooperates with the coordinator and clergy in selection of music and scheduling of his/her choir’s worship leadership responsibility.
  • Helps the choir appreciate the function of “service” to the Lord and the congregation by their singing leadership in worship.
  • Stimulates an appreciation for music within the choir.
  • Leads the choir in rehearsals for congregational worship assignments.
  • Leads the choir in a variety of fun-songs.
  • Directs the choir during worship.
  • Keeps weekly record of attendance.
  • Develops a personal relationship with each youth/child.
  • Prays regularly for each choir member and staff member by name.
  • Participates in regular Worship Skills Meetings.
  • Prays with the choir for the clergy, the worshipers and themselves as they prepare for the worship experience.

Choir Assistant(s)

  • Substitutes for the director in emergencies.
  • Assists the director in encouraging the youth/children in their participation.
  • May keep attendance records to relieve the director of this function.
  • Helps supervise students.
  • Participates in regular Worship Skills Meetings.
  • Prays regularly for choir members and adults working with the choir.

Accompanist(s)

  • Cooperates with the director in the rehearsals.
  • Plays for worship services.
  • Prays regularly for choir members and adults working with the choir.

Worship Skills Leaders

There may be other worship skills leaders who will be called on to lead a group in dramatization, movement, puppetry or some other type of worship leadership. These worship skills leaders are supported and provided with resources by the Worship Skills Coordinator and are provided an assistant to help with the group.
