Quarterly meeting dates have been determined for the 2016 year. The first of the meetings will take place on February 27, 2016 at the shop of Andy Roy, Fiddleback Forge, in Cumming, Georgia. Marsha & Aaron Brewer will share information on their knife collections. We will also have two other demos that are still to be finalized.

Marsha and Nola will help James with this class.

Lunch will be provided-more on this to come.

We will have a meeting at the church house in Jonesboro on May 3rd to discuss the Blade Show and to get members to sign-up to help during the show.

The Blade Show is June 3-5, 2016. Nola needs to send out a copy of the value of our club knives to members. Also, Jerry has found a company called Arms & Armor Insurance Company. We can get the club knives insured through a policy that would be connected to his home owners’ items that would also cover our club’s collection. Jerry and Nola will continue to look into getting this policy at a cost of $100.00 for coverage up to $66,000.00.

The third of our quarterly meetings will be held on July 23rd at Jerry Costin’s shop in Lithonia. We have invited Travis Daniel to share his technique of showing a polish finish to a knife. Other demos are still being planned for this meeting.

Our fourth quarterly meeting will take place on October 8th at the cabin home/shop of Craig & Karen Schneeberger. More information on this as we work on scheduling of demos.

If you would like to do a demo at any of our quarterly meetings, please let Jerry or Dave Smith know, or if there is something you would like to see done, please let us know that also.

The Christmas Dinner that was held on December 1, 2015 was a successful and enjoyable one for those that could attend. It was held at the First Baptist Church of Lithonia Fellowship Hall. It was suggested by some of the members to have our Christmas Dinners earlier in the day on a Saturday in December. Some of the members do not like driving to and from the dinner at night. This will be checked into for the 2016 dinner. Becky Hensley will check to see if we can get the church fellowship hall again on the first Saturday for this year. Nola and Becky will check about getting a caterer again also.

We need an updated list of club members, and their address and phone numbers.

Reminder, club dues are due by January 31st of each year. Dues are $25.00 for member and $10 for spouse or child. Please send dues payment to Johnny Rogers, 150 Kalispell Drive, Fayetteville, Georgia 30215.

A motion was made to again send in a donation of $200.00 to the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro in memory of Bill Bradbury. The motion was passed.

The club knife for next year would be a factory style knife. Jerry presented a Case Trapper Knife blade from Michael Prater & Co. Painted Pony. He shared a couple of different types of handle material for this knife that could be used. The knife and handle material was passed around. The club voted to have this Case Trapper with the Blue Matrix handle material be made for the 2017 club knife. Information will be sent out to members on getting orders for this knife.

The 2016 club knives done in memory of Rade Lee Hawkins were given out to members that had ordered them.
