GFHSRA Meeting Minutes – March 16, 2016

Meeting called to order at 6:06 PM

  15. 4 new uniforms purchased for new officials; 2 have already been paid back
  16. New tent for summit will be purchased; old tent is not fixable

  21. We are one of the few chapters that runs 3-man crews on all games
  22. Some other associations run duals
  23. We were given two regional sites – 12 officials total, 6 per site
  24. Wichita Falls and Kennedale
  25. Two officials selected for state – Eric Phelps and Joseph Jeffers
  26. Assignor Fee balance has options
  27. Carry balance for next year or middle school games
  28. If balance is significant enough, a refund check can be issues
  29. Individual officials need to communicate with assignor to sort out

  31. Keep availability up to date so Assignor can give games accurately
  32. USSF and parks and rec are ongoing and the assignor will be looking at availability to assign all matches throughout the spring season
  33. Games are auto declined after 48 hours if not addressed

  36. Substitutions are different from high school/UIL
  37. Casts and face masks have different allowances
  38. No casts in south Texas
  39. Casts allowed in north Texas
  40. No heading rule for FIFA has not yet been adopted by CAYSA/STYSA
  41. Know the rules of the competition/league you are officiating
  42. Tri-County/KPR winter league update
  43. Winter season tournament is coming up – playoffs for all age groups
  44. Summer season is upcoming
  45. Upcoming Tournaments
  46. List given out by Secretary and printed on agenda
  47. At least four upcoming tournaments from now until May
  48. Some tournaments are cash at the field, some are in Arbiter with Refpay
  49. Go to club team sites to get information about events to officiate, who assignors are, and how to contact them
  50. Election committee selection
  51. Christel and George volunteered to be a part of the committee
  52. Secretary (Joseph Jeffers) will chair the committee
  53. Nominations need to be sent out at least three times at the request of the President
  54. Nomination’s for next year’s board – will close on April 30th, to be voted on at May meeting

  75. Everyone needs a good pregame talk; write yours down
  76. Younger officials need to work on one
  77. Experienced officials need to say theirs so others can learn from it
  78. Center officials give the pregame instruction
  79. Cover everything that you would like your ARs to know
  80. Give specific scenarios and guidance on what you would like your ARs to do to assist you
  81. ARs need to listen to the pregame the center gives; ask questions if anything is not covered or anything is confusing during the talk
  82. Walk the field prior to/during the talk and discuss any field conditions
