GFHSRA Meeting Minutes – March 16, 2016
Meeting called to order at 6:06 PM

- Season ended last night
- We are one of the few chapters that runs 3-man crews on all games
- Some other associations run duals
- We were given two regional sites – 12 officials total, 6 per site
- Wichita Falls and Kennedale
- Two officials selected for state – Eric Phelps and Joseph Jeffers
- Assignor Fee balance has options
- Carry balance for next year or middle school games
- If balance is significant enough, a refund check can be issues
- Individual officials need to communicate with assignor to sort out

- Keep availability up to date so Assignor can give games accurately
- USSF and parks and rec are ongoing and the assignor will be looking at availability to assign all matches throughout the spring season
- Games are auto declined after 48 hours if not addressed

- Pay attention to specific rules
- Substitutions are different from high school/UIL
- Casts and face masks have different allowances
- No casts in south Texas
- Casts allowed in north Texas
- No heading rule for FIFA has not yet been adopted by CAYSA/STYSA
- Know the rules of the competition/league you are officiating
- Tri-County/KPR winter league update
- Winter season tournament is coming up – playoffs for all age groups
- Summer season is upcoming
- Upcoming Tournaments
- List given out by Secretary and printed on agenda
- At least four upcoming tournaments from now until May
- Some tournaments are cash at the field, some are in Arbiter with Refpay
- Go to club team sites to get information about events to officiate, who assignors are, and how to contact them
- Election committee selection
- Christel and George volunteered to be a part of the committee
- Secretary (Joseph Jeffers) will chair the committee
- Nominations need to be sent out at least three times at the request of the President
- Nomination’s for next year’s board – will close on April 30th, to be voted on at May meeting

- Everyone needs a good pregame talk; write yours down
- Younger officials need to work on one
- Experienced officials need to say theirs so others can learn from it
- Center officials give the pregame instruction
- Cover everything that you would like your ARs to know
- Give specific scenarios and guidance on what you would like your ARs to do to assist you
- ARs need to listen to the pregame the center gives; ask questions if anything is not covered or anything is confusing during the talk
- Walk the field prior to/during the talk and discuss any field conditions
