Application for Fellowship

A Fellowship allows for a bursary to enable you to take research leave for a period of one month in order to complete a paper for publication that can be produced from your research. Applicants can be academics, members of government or other research institutions, staff from NGOs, or individual consultants who have research experience and track record.

The fellowships do NOT provide funding for new research projects – only for the writing up of existing research into publishable form. In some circumstances we may support some new data collection or data analysis if it adds value to the paper being proposed.

Deadline for submission of application: 15 February 2013

Do not send any other documents – only the application form in Word format (do not convert it to PDF) and the letter of support from your institution (see below).

You may apply for a fellowship but not a writeshop as well.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

Compulsory criteria

Applicants must

·  be a citizen of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal or Pakistan and be resident in one of those countries.

·  be involved in a project on climate change that will produce a draft paper that can potentially be submitted for publication during the research leave enabled by the Fellowship. The paper can involve more than one author, but to be eligible only ONE author must apply, giving clear details of all authors, and specifying as clearly as possible the proportion of effort between the different authors. Applications will not be accepted from Doctoral supervisors or Project directors who themselves have not been actively involved in the research.

·  be committed to working with a mentor before, during and after the Fellowship, to complete the paper, and see it through the publications process.

Other criteria (based on points and ranking system, ranging from 0 to 5)
