FOOD & BEVERAGE JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Ski Hill Lodge / Food & Beverage

Employment Dates: Typically Early December – Early March (depending on length of season)

Wages: $11.00 - $14.00/hr. DOE

Status: Full or Part-Time

Reports To: F&B Manager and General Manager

Description Summary

This is a working hands-on position that is very guest service and financial success oriented. Provide a family food & beverage concession and atmosphere that generates a positive financial return to the organization. Operations consist of the food & beverage concession at Leavenworth Ski Hill including Ski Hill Lodge facility as well as support and service for LWSC Events and Promotions as requested.

Essential Functions

·  Greet guests and provide information, directions, and recommendations

·  Perform cashiering functions using POS system; providing change, processing checks and credit cards, and issuing receipts or tickets to customers according to the department procedures; perform daily cash out and reporting following company processes

·  Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand

·  Produce an accurate daily sales check-out and deposit

·  Quote price and describe features of items for which money is received

·  Assist with ensuring items are kept well-stocked and ensure organization and general cleanliness by monitoring assigned work areas

·  Assist with bussing dining area when needed

·  Operate within the requirements of the Chelan-Douglas Health Department, WLCB and all public health laws

·  Obtain required all operating permits and licenses

·  Maintain the cleanliness and security of the Ski Hill Lodge facility and concession area

·  Adhere to MSDS requirements applicable to the department

·  Tend and maintain fireplace

·  Enforce and maintain Rules of Conduct with children

·  Adhere to the rules of the USFS Special Use Permit

·  Keep all Lodge spaces clean and maintained including concession, public spaces and restrooms

·  Maintain, clear and clean outdoor spaces around Lodge

·  Remove daily trash to Ski Hill dumpster

·  Decorate the Lodge as needed

·  Maintain phone and/or radio contact at all times while on shift

·  Prepare the facilities according to the daily operating schedule and/or event program in a timely fashion

·  Work unsupervised in a manner that is professional and consistent with company and department policies and procedures

·  Other duties as requested by F&B Manager, General Manager

Experience / Requirements

·  Accurate cash-handling knowledge and skills

·  Great guest service skills including professional appearance and demeanor

·  Command of the English language both written and verbal

·  Working knowledge of PC computers and POS systems

·  Able to use good judgment and make sound decisions

·  Able to pass a background check for cash handling

·  Reliable all-weather transportation

Physical Requirements

·  Stand and / or sit for extended periods, reach, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell

·  Ascend and descend stairs and navigate uneven and or slippery terrain

·  Lift up to 50 lbs.

·  Tolerate hot/cold temperatures at times above 95 Degrees F or below 0 Degrees F

·  The ability to walk on slick, wet snow covered, or uneven surfaces

Working Conditions

·  Indoor / Outdoor including extreme temperatures and snow / ice in the winter months

·  Must be able to function effectively with minimum supervision

·  Noisy and fast-paced environment with adults, children and groups

Attendance

·  Show-up for work in a timely manner appropriately dressed for daily operations according to the operating schedule

·  Business operation schedules and levels are affected by the weather, requiring the ability for this position to maintain flexibility in the work schedule

·  This position’s work schedule will also include weekends, holidays, evenings and extra hours
