Profile / I am a professional freelance translator.I have been translating a wide variety of texts in the EN>ITand SP>IT combinations since 2002, when I was attending courses as an undergraduate at theUniversity of Liverpoolin England.I hold an Italian degree in Foreign Languages and Literature, which I wasawarded at the University of Pisain 2003.

Interests /
- I am particularly interested in the translation of literary texts,however I have gained considerable experience in the fields of linguisticsand glottology andalso with certain types of medical documents. I have also translated numerous texts relating to tourism and travel, culinary topics, art, aircraft and airport terminology.
Working experience /
- 2002 - present: Freelancetranslatorand private tutor of English, Spanish and French (at all levels).
- 2005 - 2007: Airport ramp agent. For the past two years I have also been employed by the Tuscan Airport Agency (Società Aeroporto Toscano) at Pisa Intenational Airport as a part-time ‘ramp agent’, a post which involves a variety of duties of both an administrative and technical nature, including flight management procedure and liaison between the Airport Agency and foreign airlines, passenger embarking/disembarking control duties, the preparation of flight route documents, special security procedures for passengers, monitoring the conveyance of dangerous goodsand thecompilation of payload balance charts.
- 2003 - 2005:Flight assistant (cabin crew).Resident in the UKfor a period of two years during a period of employment with Ryanair Airline Company (based at StanstedAirport).
- 2002: Hotel managerial assistant.For a brief period I was responsible for client reception, front-office management and general customer servicesat a small family-run hotel in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia (Hotel Corallo at Posada).
Education /
- 2003: Degree in Foreign Languages and Literature at the Universityof Pisa(First-class degree - 110/110). Dissertation: “Evolution of the Lancashire dialect with reference to social class and manifest differences between generations, with a particular focus on urban sub-dialect forms (‘scouse) in the city of Liverpool”.
- 1992 – 1997:High School. I attended an Italian liceo scientifico [secondary education leading to an A-level-equivalent diploma in scientific subjects and languages] with a strong linguistic bias.
