Successful
Season
By: Coach Kinsaul
It was another great year for our basketball teams from SMS. All three teams ended with great records. The 7th grade team ended up with a 6-3 record and won the county tournament by defeating Pleasant Home 17-16 in the final game.
The Middle School girls wound up with a 15-2 record while defeating Florala and Pleasant Home to win their county tournament.
The 8th grade boys finished 5-5 and lost to Pleasant Home in the semifinals of the county tournament by 1 point.
Coach Andrews and I are so proud of the work ethic and dedication these young athletes display throughout the season. We were honored to coach them.

What do you have with snowmen, elves, toys, and reindeer? Add a Santa and Mrs. Clause, a few directors, and a couple of snowflakes. You might just have the makings of a great production. With all these elements in place, SMS Choir presented an exciting musical about a group of performers planning a Christmas celebration. In other words, it was a play about a play.
During seventh period, interested students were allowed to participate in the SMS Choir. With a little under three weeks, Mrs. McLaurin and choir members assigned and practiced parts for the production, North Pole Musical. The student body, along with family and friends, enjoyed the December afternoon performance of acting, dancing, and singing.
The SMS choir will continue to meet at designated times during the second semester with an invitation to students who are interested in singing. Who knows? Maybe a spring musical is in the future. SMS surely has some very talented kids.
